Dear Parent / Carer
As you will be aware the Prime Minister has made an announcement this evening regarding a further national lockdown, this involves a further change to education until February half-term in the first instance.
Schools have received no prior notification of this decision and, as I am sure you will appreciate, this will necessitate further planning to put a robust remote learning structure in place whilst also preparing to welcome vulnerable children and key worker children into school.
With this in mind, we have made the decision to close Greenleas Primary School tomorrow Tuesday 5th January 2021. We understand that this will put pressure on many families and apologise for the incredibly late and short notice and the inevitable disruption that this will cause.
Staff will use this day in school to prepare for the switch to remote learning, for children who will remain at home, to start on Wednesday 6th January 2021.
We will also begin the process of allocating places in school for children of key workers and vulnerable children. Please complete the form sent earlier today via ParentMail to assist us in this allocation.
Further updates will be made tomorrow via ParentMail. Any urgent enquiries should be directed via email to: schooloffice@greenleas.wirral.sch.uk. Anyone who does not have login details for Google Classroom/Purple Mash etc should also email the school office to allow staff time to provide this information.
With thanks for your continued support and understanding in these very unusual times.
Stay safe and Take care
Sharon Edwards
