P.E and Sport Funding
In April 2013, the Government announced funding of £150 million for PE and Sport in primary schools. Each school has received approximately £9,250 for the past three academic years.
As a school we are using this funding to improve the provision of PE and Sport. Please see PE and Sports Funding under the ‘About Us’ heading for details.
Learning through Physical Education and Sports
At Greenleas Primary School we are passionate about Physical Education and Sport and we believe in teaching the children about the importance of leading healthyand active lifestyles.
We are committed to ensuring that our children have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of sports and activity during P.E. lessons which can also cover a competitive element. Children typically have 1 hour with their class teacher and up to an hour with a Premier Sport coach.
Our aim is for every child to attend an extra-curricular clubs, competitive event or a inter-school competition so they can learn new skills and become physically confident. Remember to check this page every half-term to find out what clubs and competitions will be coming up.
Long term planning is available on this page for Key Stage 1 and 2. For information on PE activities in F2, please find their class page and have a look at their topic webs.
